Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Do I need a referral to see you?
No referral is required. You may book directly with me for a urologic consultation—whether it’s your first time seeing a specialist or you're seeking a second opinion. However, if you're coming from an HMO provider, some plans may require a referral from their in-house physician for coverage.
2. What urologic conditions do you treat?
As a board-certified urologist, I manage both medical and surgical cases involving:
Prostate conditions (BPH, prostatitis, prostate cancer screening)
Kidney stones (diagnosis, prevention, endoscopic or percutaneous removal)
Urinary disorders (UTIs, blood in urine, incontinence, bladder pain)
Male reproductive health (erectile dysfunction, infertility, varicocele)
Scrotal and testicular issues, as well as select pediatric urologic cases
I also perform procedures such as circumcision, vasectomy, cystoscopy, and urologic surgeries for benign and malignant conditions.
3. Do you see female patients?
Yes. Urology is not limited to male health. I also manage female urinary tract conditions, such as recurrent UTIs, incontinence, bladder prolapse, and hematuria. Women are welcome to consult for any urinary-related concern.
4. Can I do the consultation online?
Yes. I offer telemedicine consultations for patients who are far from the clinic, homebound, or prefer privacy. Many issues—such as follow-ups, interpretation of test results, or initial evaluations—can be managed online. For physical exams or procedures, I will recommend an in-person visit when needed.
5. What should I prepare before a consult?
To get the most out of your appointment:
Bring any past labs or imaging (urinalysis, ultrasound, CT scan, etc.)
Prepare a list of symptoms, their timeline, and any treatments you’ve tried
Bring a list of medications and any allergies
For first-time patients, a short medical summary is helpful but optional
If you’re consulting online, ensure good lighting and privacy
6. Do you perform surgeries? What kinds?
Yes. I perform minimally invasive, endoscopic, and open urologic surgeries, including:
PCNL, ureteroscopy, laser lithotripsy for kidney stones
Minimally invasive and open surgeries for enlarged prostate
Orchiopexy, hydrocelectomy, hernia repair
Biopsies, resections, and tumor removals for cancer care
